2011 Chicago Blackhawks preseason schedule

The Chicago Blackhawks announced their 2011 preseason schedule. They are the home team for the preseason opener.

From the team's official news release:

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today the team's 2011 preseason schedule, which consists of seven games against National Hockey League opponents including one contest in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The Blackhawks will open their preseason slate with a matchup against the Edmonton Oilers at the Credit Union Centre on Wednesday, September 20th. The tilt will mark the second consecutive preseason the Blackhawks will participate in a neutral site contest, following the 2010 preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Chicago will also play home-and-home series during the 2011 preseason with their Central Division rivals, the Detroit Red Wings, as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals. The Blackhawks will open their home preseason schedule on Friday, September 23rd when they welcome the Capitals to the United Center at 7:00 PM.

Game times and ticket information for the 2011 preseason will be announced at a later date.


The Blackhawks' 2011 preseason schedule is as follows:
(game start times are in Eastern Time)

September 20 - vs. Edmonton (in Saskatoon), 8:00 PM
September 22 - at Pittsburgh, 7:00 PM
September 23 - vs. Washington, 8:30 PM
September 25 - at Detroit, 4:00 PM
September 28 - vs. Detroit, 8:30 PM
September 30 - vs. Pittsburgh, 8:30 PM
October 2 - at Washington, 5:00 PM

UPDATE (July 11, 2011):
The Chicago Blackhawks announced their 2011 preseason schedule broadcast coverage. The September 25th and October 2nd games will air on WGN-TV. The September 28th and September 30th games will be on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
